Seeing versus dating
So let's cover a few differences between dating and hanging out, in hopes of making life easier for these ladies. OK, he's probably not a serial killer, but you get my point. The problem is that many people never make the leap.Go ahead and hang out with someone if you're just getting to know him or her. They hang out perpetually, creating confusion and tension that could easily be dissipated by asking someone on a date.
And that just happens to make them more attractive. We have something, or rather Someone, who's eager to give our life a sense of mission, meaning, and value. The fallout (or perhaps, benefit) from this aversion to labels remains to be seen. It's not terrorism, economic recession, global warming or gasoline prices that could hit per gallon by the time you're done reading this.Indeed, labels are often black and white, imposing undesirable norms upon huge swaths of people to whom rigid conventions cannot and should not be applied. I mean, honestly, why is it such a big deal to call someone your boyfriend or girlfriend?Labels do well, however, to simplify and clarify -- to provide boundaries and set expectations. Unlike married couples -- or even cohabitating, unmarried couples -- should a boyfriend and girlfriend breakup, there are few -- if any -- financial or familial troubles to navigate.
